A talk was held by the Sikh Welfare Council to advise participants about Will-making. Lawyer Harjeet Singh, of Harjeet Singh & Co, was invited to give the talk.

Topics covered included:

  • Importance of Will-making
  • How a Will is made and how it can be put together effectively.

This position has been filled. 

 

A faith based community education and welfare society is looking for an Education Project Officer (EPO), to spearhead and run educational programmes for the community. The programmes will initially cater to students in mainstream primary schools. The qualifications and requirements we are looking for in the candidate are:-   

  • Degree and/or Post-Graduate Diploma in Education, with relevant teaching experience in local schools
  • NIE Trained Primary School Teacher preferred
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, versatile, resourceful, and result-oriented
  • Meticulous, with an eye for details
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • PC-literate with good Microsoft Office skills
    • Able and willing to travel island wide
    • Preferably possesses own transport

Update:

The health awareness event at the SKA on Sunday 27 April 2014 was a great success. 126 participants of all ages and walks of life took part in the health screening.
